For
filigranka's prompt: "theme: non-English music (lyrics, creators - feel free to interpret the theme however you want!)"
Here's a playlist of beautiful songs from historical or fantasy Korean and Chinese dramas -- opening and ending themes or other music. Hopefully the music can be enjoyed even without knowing the source canons. (Some of the videos have translations of the lyrics and some don't. Sadly, I don't know Korean or Chinese myself so I can't help there.)
I have watched all of these dramas. Some of them are really good. Some of them are not good, as such, but I enjoyed them. I'm happy to answer any questions about them if you're curious.

Date: 2019-09-18 06:18 am (UTC)The songs were all incredibly beautiful - so delicate (right, most of them ;)) and with all dramatic beats perfectly composed, and absolutely perfect in inducting the feelings of melancholy and (sweet) unspecific longing - for the better times (which of course were never), for perfect love, for greatness, for some other kind of life than the one we all have... So, it's perfect for writing or just lying, dreaming/idly thinking. Very calming. And the pace between calmer, slower, more ballad-like songs and the more energetic, faster, "rocky" or battle ones is perfect, too!
And I haven't watched any cdramas, so I haven't known them - and it was the mix full of wonderful discoveries for me!
Oh, and call me shallow, but the beauty of visuals in the videos - the costumes! the frames! - was a big part of my enjoyment as well.
Thank you again!
