for
filigranka 's prompt: theme: non-English music (lyrics, creators - feel free to interpret the theme however you want!)
you can listen on Spotify or YouTube (some Inti-Illimani songs aren't available on Spotify, so I've put covers instead)
This is a collection of mostly protest songs and a few that just rock. It's all in Italian & Spanish (some from Chile and few from Spain).
If you have any questions about lyrics or translations or the history of any of these songs, it's mostly stuff I grew up with and that I love dearly, so I might know a thing or two (or at least be able to google in the right direction - the dearth of English language resources about Inti-Illimani is frankly insulting). If not - just enjoy!

A lot of actual war songs is, because really, if they march to the Very Serious Choir Renditions, they'd probably die of the old age become reaching the battle. ;) But I have to say even our more energetic and happy war songs aren't so dance-inducting; this version of Katjuša is more banger-ish then the Polish and Russian ones I heard, too (although I'm sure I haven't heard even he half of them). Perfect for this mix!
Every time we sent a song about borders and similar to Eurovision, it was a sloooow, ballad, full of pathos. So very stereotypical of us. :D
